Chancay Port, located on Peru's central coast and capable of accommodating large vessels, has started operations and sent its first batch of products to Shanghai. The port, designed to facilitate direct shipping routes between South America and Asia, has four berths and an annual handling capacity of 1 million TEU. The inaugural shipment included fresh blueberries from Peruvian companies Camposol and Agrícola Cerro Prieto. This development is part of a broader effort to connect Peru directly to China and other Asian markets, potentially reducing transit time by at least 10 days.
