Surveys by Cepea have indicated that despite being less competitive than pork, chicken meat is more competitive than beef in Brazil. Chicken prices have been increasing due to strong domestic demand and good export performance since July. In contrast, pork prices fell in December due to low market liquidity and high domestic supply. Beef prices, on the other hand, continue to rise. These trends highlight the impact of supply, domestic demand, and export dynamics on the price and competitiveness of different proteins in the Brazilian market.
