Six 12-year-old children in Campo Grande, MS, have transformed an old dump site into a pesticide-free garden, as part of the Casa Dom Bosco project. The initiative, which started during the pandemic in September 2020, covers an area of 40 square meters and is used to teach the children about chemical-free production and the benefits of nature. The project incorporates biodynamic agriculture, which shuns chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and hormones. The students are also learning entrepreneurship and financial education, with plans to sell the harvest at local fairs. Upon completion of the course, they will receive certificates and the project aims to expand with support from the private sector.
