China has significantly boosted Madagascar's rice industry growth by sharing hybrid rice technology, which has doubled the country's rice yield. This advancement is part of the broader China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, marked by substantial increases in agricultural trade and technical collaboration. The trade value of African agricultural products in China has seen a notable rise, with citrus, sesame, and cocoa being the main imports. The recent China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha aimed to strengthen this cooperation, leading to the signing of a $510 million food and agricultural product project cooperation. The expo also adapted an 'online' format to accommodate participants despite the pandemic, with over 320 online exhibitors and nearly 2.3 thousand exhibit categories.
