In the 2019/20 marketing year, Kazakhstan's wheat exports to China saw a 37% decrease, contributing only 6% to China's total imports, with the volume dropping to 320 thousand tons from 506 thousand tons the previous year. Russian wheat exports to China also declined by 34%, delivering around 50 thousand tons. Conversely, Russian wheat flour exports to China surged by 43% to 141 thousand tons, while Kazakhstan's flour exports experienced a 47% drop to 19 thousand tons, resulting in China's imports of wheat flour reaching approximately 230 thousand tons, with 60% being Russian, 19% Ukrainian, and 9% Kazakh.
