China has become the largest supplier of fruits and vegetables to Kazakhstan, with grapes, apples, and citrus fruits leading the way.

From January to September 2025, the total import value of fruits and vegetables in Kazakhstan increased by 3.2%, reaching 559.7 million dollars. The increase in import volume was even more significant, reaching 1.2 million tons (an increase of 10.3%). The import value from China increased by 39%, reaching 181.7 million dollars. The supply from Uzbekistan, however, decreased by 12%, down to 128.6 million dollars. Overall, China and Uzbekistan provided about 55% of Kazakhstan's imported fruits and vegetables. China's dominant position is due to the surge in imports of several key categories such as potatoes and grapes: * Potatoes: The import value in 2025 reached 33.4 million dollars (136,000 tons); * Grapes: The import from China more than doubled, reaching 22.8 million dollars (34,900 tons).
