Chinese business leaders express concern over the potential extension of Russia's ban on rapeseed exports past February 2023. This fear is shared by the Siberian Grain Consortium, which has urged the Russian Ministry of Agriculture to avoid hasty decisions that could negatively impact rapeseed exports through the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria border crossing. The consortium emphasizes the economic benefits of these exports, including high profitability for Chinese traders and support for Russia's food security. Despite an overabundance of rapeseed in Russia, the Institute for Agricultural Studies (IKAR) advocates for the removal of the export ban, citing the positive economic implications and the necessity of maintaining market stability.
