In 2022, Vietnam saw a significant increase in star anise exports to China, with a 65.6% rise to 3,513 tons compared to the previous year. Despite a sharp decrease in exports to India, the country's total star anise exports experienced only a 12% drop, totaling 12,855 tons and generating a revenue of 72.9 million USD, marking a 36.7% increase. India continued to be the largest market, accounting for 41.3% of exports, while China, the US, and the Netherlands were also key importers. Star anise is primarily used as a spice in various dishes across these markets.
