A Russian ship has unloaded 74.3 tons of blue crab at Ningbo Zhoushan Port, with the majority of the shipment being sent to cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and the Hangzhou seafood trade market. Blue crabs are valued highly in China, with Russian king crabs fetching up to 750 yuan per kilogram ($110 per kg) in local markets. The port has implemented a 24-hour customs clearance and priority screening process to expedite delivery of the live product. This comes after Russia pivoted its focus to the Chinese market, following restrictions from Western markets due to the Ukraine conflict.
