Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea has allocated a supplementary budget of 5 billion won to provide subsidies to farmers who engage in double-cropping. The subsidy will reach up to 3.5 million won per hectare, with an additional 2.5 million won expected from the strategic crop direct payment system. The subsidy will be given for crops such as wheat, forage, soybean, and flour rice, cultivated from October to June the following year. The goal is to increase the double-cropped area in Chungnam from the current 2.6% to 15% by 2026, aiming to strengthen food security, stabilize rice supply and demand, and increase farm household income.
