Ten days after creating a special credit line of R$ 12 billion to aid rural producers affected by climate change, the National Monetary Council (CMN) restricted access to credit operations for farmers and ranchers in Rio Grande do Sul. The council approved the measure in an extraordinary meeting on Thursday (9), but the resolution was only released on Friday (10). At the beginning of September, the government issued Provisional Measure 1,314/2025, which created two special credit lines for the renegotiation of rural credit debts and Rural Product Certificates (CPR): one with an extraordinary credit of R$ 12 billion and another with free resources from financial institutions.
