Completion of the 300 projects for the rural village new deal at Gwangdong Port, Haenam County.

Haenam County in Jeollanam-do recently held a successful festival at the Hwasan Gwandong Village Fishermen's Center to celebrate the completion of the Gwandong Port Rural New Deal 300 Project (photo). The event, attended by around 200 people including Haenam County Mayor Myeong Hyeon-gwan, County Council Chairman Lee Seong-ok, Kim Jong-beom, Director of the Korea Rural Community Corporation, agency heads, and local residents, involved sharing the progress of the project and a tour of the site. The Gwandong Port Rural New Deal 300 Project, selected as a 2021 Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries public call project, involved a total investment of 8.9 billion won. Through common projects such as breakwaters, ship maintenance facilities, and the creation of a connecting harbor, the fishing port was systematically improved to enhance the living environment of fishermen.
