The National Supply Company (Conab) in São Paulo acquired 10 tons of cassava flour and 10 tons of beans for donation to around 1,400 families served by six social projects present in the Complexo da Penha and Alemão, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The items were delivered this Tuesday (25) to the Food Bank of the Company of Entrepostos and General Warehouses of São Paulo (CEAGESP), in the capital of São Paulo, and follow, still today (25), to the headquarters of Ação Cidadania in RJ, responsible for mediating the delivery. The purchase was made through the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), in the Direct Purchase (CD) modality. The food items were obtained from two family farming cooperatives: Cooperativa da Terra, responsible for supplying the beans, and the Cooperative of Rural Workers of Family Farming in São Paulo (Cootrasp), supplier of the cassava flour.
