[Korean Farmers' News Reporter Jo Young-kyu] Recently, the supply and demand of raw materials for seedling cultivation soil has been unstable. Seedling cultivation soil is a material such as topsoil used for transplanting seeds into paddy fields or farmland until germination, and the raw materials for seedling cultivation soil include Coco Peat, Peat Moss, Vermiculite, and Perlite. Among these, Coco Peat and Peat Moss make up an average of around 50% of seedling cultivation products, and up to 70% in some cases, though this varies by product. Most of these materials rely on imports. The problem is that the local situation for Coco Peat and Peat Moss is not favorable.
