A conflict at the port terminal in the Bío Bío region, which is the busiest in the area, has been ongoing for eight weeks, causing significant economic impact with estimated damages near $2 million. The partner companies storing 85 containers of frozen products are facing risks of cargo loss and additional export costs, while over 30 contracting companies within the port are suffering financial harm. Temporary workers are preventing contractors from recovering their tools, leading to concerns of physical integrity. The Government is calling for solutions and has appointed the Minister of Transport as a mediator to negotiate with the temporary workers to resolve the conflict.
