Household consumption of agricultural products increased by 4.4% in 2023, led by a rise in meat and fresh and frozen product consumption, while processed pork products saw a decrease. Extra-domestic consumption also grew by 1.51%. The data marks a turnaround from a decline in consumption since 2020 and brings meat and fresh and frozen product consumption figures to nearly 2019 levels. Alberto Herranz, general director of the Interprofessional, highlighted the white pork sector's effort to meet consumer demands and its initiatives, including a commitment to clean energy and the B+ Animal Welfare Commitment seal.
