Corn commercialization advances in MT

Marketing of the 24/25 crop reaches 81.11% in October; rising prices and purchase of inputs drive negotiations, but volume is still below last year's. The marketing of the 2024/25 corn crop in Mato Grosso reached 81.11% of the estimated production by October, with an advance of 3.52 percentage points compared to September. Despite the progress, the volume is still 4.68 p.p. below that recorded in the same period of 2024, according to a bulletin from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea). The movement is related to the release of stocks by producers, seeking resources for the acquisition of inputs, and the appreciation in the available market, with an average price of R$ 47.16 per bag — an increase of 3.07% in the month. The 2025/26 crop also showed progress in advance sales, reaching 23.53% of the estimated production in October.
