In the Western Border, the accumulated rainfall exceeded 110 millimeters and prevented the transit of heavy machinery in the crops. In some locations, the heavy rainfall from previous weeks caused irregular germination, resulting in failures in the plant stand. In the Alto Uruguai, the low temperatures reduced the growth rate of the crops. The sown area has evolved by only 1% and reached 73% of the projected total, with 99% of the crops in the vegetative stage and 1% in flowering. Producers are performing nitrogen topdressing at stages V6 to V7. In the newly sown crops, between stages V2 and V4, weed management continues, especially in the Northwest, where there is greater difficulty in controlling ryegrass.
