Fishermen in the Black Sea are waiting for the warm sea water to cool down, keeping an eye on the path of the anchovies. As anchovy schools have not yet appeared, the stalls are filled with mullet, red mullet, sardines, and sprats, while fishermen believe that the anchovies will become abundant as the weather cools. Currently, sardines are sold at 70 TL, mullet at 100 TL, red mullet at 250 TL, and sea bream at 400 TL. Fisherman Abdurrahim Kırbaş said, "For now, small fish are coming. We have mullet, red mullet, and mackerel. Soon, we will also have sardinella. There are few bonito. This year will be the year of anchovies. If the weather gets a bit cooler, we will see plenty of anchovies on the stalls within 10-15 days." Citizens also noted that the prices are currently reasonable and said they are looking forward to the onset of cold weather for more variety.
