Carrot processing and exporting businesses in Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province, Vietnam, are experiencing a surge in export orders to Korea, with a 10% price increase compared to pre-Tet times due to labor shortages caused by Covid-19 quarantines. Despite these challenges, businesses are expecting to expand operations soon. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has lifted the import ban on Vietnamese carrots to Korea, and Hai Phong City has reopened epidemic control posts, enhancing the circulation of goods. With favorable weather conditions, carrots are in high yield and quality, satisfying both domestic and international demand. Hai Duong province is storing around 33,000 tons of carrots yet to be harvested and 5,000 tons of harvested carrots in cold storage, anticipating smooth exports.
