Bluetongue disease, caused by the bluetongue virus, has been reported in livestock across Croatia and Denmark. In Croatia, three outbreaks have been confirmed in October, affecting cattle, sheep, and goats, with the fourth serotype of the virus identified. Meanwhile, Denmark has seen 22 new outbreaks, impacting cattle and sheep, with the third serotype identified. Vaccination measures are being implemented to control the spread. Despite the seasonal nature of the disease, experts predict that the outbreak is likely to persist and possibly intensify next year.
