In the first quarter of 2024, Russia's dairy production surged by 7%, reaching 2.9 billion liters. This growth was primarily driven by a 20% increase in the production of soft, processed, and curd cheese, and a 15% rise in cottage cheese production. Milk production also grew by 3.8%, although kefir production saw a slight decline of 1.3%. The overall increase is attributed to higher demand and a reduction in counterfeit products, thanks to the 'Honest Sign' labeling system, which has curbed illegal production and enabled legitimate businesses to expand.
