REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that rice prices of various qualities nationally were still rising in August 2025. BPS monitored rice sales transactions at mills in 33 provinces during August 2025 for premium quality rice at 38.48 percent, medium quality at 51.01 percent, submedium quality at 9.12 percent, and broken quality at 1.39 percent. Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS Pudji Ismartini said the average price of premium quality rice at mills in August 2025 was Rp 13,838 per kg or increased by 2.32 percent compared to the previous month. "Meanwhile, medium quality rice at mills was Rp 13,458 per kg or increased by 1.46 percent, submedium quality was Rp 13,319 per kg or increased by 1.14 percent, and the average price of broken rice at mills was Rp 13,740 per kg or increased by 5.89 percent," Pudji said during the BPS release in Jakarta, Monday (1/9/2025).
