On Monday, September 23, 2024, the prices for imported feed and raw materials used in the production of poultry feed experienced a decrease, with broiler feed prices fluctuating between 18,000 and 21,000 pounds. The prices for laying hens feed, cattle feed, and other types of feed for various birds and animals ranged from 14,800 to 22,600 pounds per ton. The price of imported corn, a key ingredient in poultry feed, saw a slight decrease, with Argentine yellow corn now costing 11,600 pounds per ton, while Ukrainian, Serbian, and American corn were priced at 11,100 pounds per ton.
However, Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed, the head of the Poultry Wealth Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, noted that the prices for poultry feed have been fluctuating due to the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war and increased global fuel prices, which have led to major producers converting corn into fuel in North and South America. As a result, the final feed price for various types of poultry feed has varied, with the price per ton depending on the quality, protein percentage, and freight costs.
