Research from LPEM FEB University of Indonesia shows that the amount of forest cleared during President Joko Widodo's era has dropped significantly. This data can be used by Indonesia as a weapon against the European Union's Deforestation Law, as it demonstrates Indonesia's achievements in reducing deforestation and its commitment to fighting deforestation. However, Indonesia needs to anticipate the possibility of EU requests as compensation in the negotiations, such as relaxing the export ban on nickel and bauxite and facilitating the participation of foreign companies in government procurement.
