(Agraria.pe) Shipments from Peru to Hong Kong totaled US$ 177 million between January and September of this year, reflecting a decline of -26.3% compared to the same period in 2024 (US$ 240 million), leading Peruvian entrepreneurs to await the implementation of the bilateral trade agreement in order to regain the growth path, reported the Association of Exporters (ADEX). The signing took place in November 2024 and its effective implementation will bring about the elimination of tariffs and the export of services without the need for a physical presence in its territory, benefiting sectors such as technology, consulting, and software development; it will also stimulate Hong Kong investment in the country, especially in the financial sector, thereby strengthening economic integration.
