Dong Nai province in Vietnam recently announced the export of its first shipment of durian fruit to China under a protocol signed between the two countries' agricultural departments. The province aims to increase the competitiveness of its durian fruit in the Chinese market by implementing solutions such as scaling up the growing area and building a production and processing chain. Dong Nai currently ranks first in the Southeast region and fourth in the country in terms of durian area, with an expected output of around 69,000 tons in 2023.
