As of February 27, 2024, durian prices in the domestic market remain high due to a supply shortage, with Ri6 durians priced at 142,000 VND/kg and Thai durians at 200,000 VND/kg. Despite the high investment for off-season fruit, growers are still making profits of around 1 billion VND/hectare. The local agricultural sector is promoting safe durian production and packaging, and encouraging cooperation with businesses to establish large-scale, standardized durian farms for export, particularly to China, which accounts for 95% of global consumption.
