As of March 5, 2024, durian prices in Vietnam remain high, encouraging farmers to grow durian in the off-season, despite the associated costs and risks. The high demand from the Chinese market, especially during Vietnam's durian harvest season from November to March, has significantly contributed to the country's fruit and vegetable export turnover. However, experts advise farmers to invest in technology for high-quality products rather than expanding crop areas. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development plans to focus on improving the quality of Vietnamese durian in 2024 to strengthen its export position.
