Ecuador's pork sector has experienced significant growth, becoming the country's second largest source of protein after chicken. Pork consumption per capita has surpassed beef, contributing to 8% of the agricultural GDP and creating 80,000 direct jobs and over 200,000 indirect jobs. The Association of Pig Farmers of Ecuador (ASPE) is organizing the PorciEcuador 2024 Congress in Guayaquil on May 28 and 29 to further stimulate the sector's growth. The event will attract experts from several countries to discuss the latest trends and advancements in pork farming.
