The USDA GAIN report has noted a decrease in the average price of EU chicken meat in 2023, attributed to lower feed costs following high prices in the previous years. However, early indications for 2024 show a rise in prices due to increased domestic demand. The report also highlights significant price variations among EU Member States, with Germany and France having the most notable difference of €1.5 per kilo. This has resulted in an increase in Polish chicken meat exports to other EU countries, sometimes replacing imported Brazilian chicken meat.
