EU countries have reduced imports of oilseeds by 23 percent in the 2023-24 agricultural year, with a significant decline in sunflower purchases. The reduction in oilseed supplies from Ukraine played a major role in this decrease. However, soybean imports increased slightly. The decline in oilseed imports from Ukraine can be attributed to the conflict between Ukraine and Eastern European countries, as well as difficulties with supplies after Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal.
