EU launches anti-dumping investigation into sweetcorn imports from China

The European Commission has recently announced the start of an anti-dumping procedure concerning imports of sweet corn grains originating in China, as published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU). This investigation is a cause of concern for the Chinese canned sweet corn grain industry, which is preparing a collective response. The opening of an investigation by Brussels follows the filing of a complaint on 25 October by the European Sweet Corn Processors Association (AETMD), alleging the existence of significant distortions by Chinese products causing injury to the EU industry.
