Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reports a positive growth in the export value of several agricultural products, including coffee, rubber, vegetables, pepper, cashew nut, livestock products, and wood products, from January to September 2021. The rubber industry experienced a significant increase in both volume and value, largely due to increased imports from China, making Vietnam the 11th largest rubber supplier to the US. The country is also expected to meet demand by boosting rubber imports. The pepper industry is on track to return to the 'billion-dollar club' with a 47% increase in export price. While seafood exports to Spain have seen growth, the pangasius sector is experiencing a decline, but the market remains bright with expectations of growth in shrimp, clams, and tuna exports. The cashew industry also saw a 14.8% increase in export value, despite a slight price decrease, due to a 16.6% increase in output.
