In the first half of 2024, Russia's meat product exports saw an increase, reaching 365.7 thousand tons, according to Rosselkhoznadzor. The main destinations for these exports were China, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan, with Vietnam and China being the primary recipients of food by-products from small and large ruminants and pigs. There was a noticeable rise in beef exports to Saudi Arabia, Belarus, and Uzbekistan, and an increase in the import of live animals from Russia to Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Lebanon. In 2023, Russia's livestock product exports exceeded 1 million tons, with a value of $2 billion. The National Meat Association aims to further increase exports by 10% in 2024, with a focus on markets in the EAEU and CIS countries, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
