Between January and May 20, 2024, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic exported 174 shipments of dairy products, totaling 580 tons, to Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. This marks a 20% increase from the same period in 2023. The exports included kefir, matsoni, sour cream, ayran, kaymak, and katyk, all accompanied by documents verifying their quality and safety in compliance with the Customs Union's technical regulations and the veterinary and sanitary requirements of the importing countries, as reported by the North Caucasus Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor.
