A recent survey by the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) has revealed fluctuations in the prices of fruits sold at the CeasaMinas warehouse in Contagem due to climate factors, supply, and external demand. While pineapple, apple, and grape prices remained stable, the costs of banana, green coconut, mango, and watermelon went up. In contrast, the prices of oranges, Tahiti limes, and Formosa papaya fell. The survey indicated that these price variations are influenced by both climate factors and economic variables such as exports and local production. With the approach of summer, demand for these seasonal fruits is anticipated to rise.
