Federal state information systems in Russian agriculture: problems of use and possible solutions

Abstract Federal state information systems (FGIS) in the agriculture of Russia are one of the results and directions of the digital transformation of the industry. Taking into account the practice of application and the needs of FGIS, they can be improved based on the identified shortcomings that arise when used by agricultural producers. The main research method is an online survey of 957 active agricultural organizations across all subjects of the Russian Federation, conducted during the first half of 2024. The subject of the research within the survey is the experience of using FGIS in agricultural organizations and the problems they encounter in the process. The conducted research confirms the presence of corresponding problems, which mainly consist of complaints about the convenience and functionality, as well as the stability of the operation of FGIS.
