FGV: Energy and airfare pressure consumer inflation in the IGP-10 for October

By Daniela Amorim Rio, 10/17/2025 - Increases in residential electricity costs (5.67%) and airfare (10.93%) drove the acceleration of consumer inflation measured by the General Price Index - 10 (IGP-10) in October, reported recently by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). The Consumer Price Index (IPC-10) went from a decrease of 0.13% in September to an increase of 0.48% in October. In the ranking of main pressures in October were also residential condominium (1.96%), cinema (12.86%), and optional vehicle insurance (2.82%). In the opposite direction, there was relief for deodorant (-6.87%), tomato (-6.83%), English potato (-8.44%), perfume (-1.48%), and onion (-11.85%).
