5 tons of horse mackerel seized during the fish inspection in Sinop, Turkiye

In the fish size inspections conducted by Sinop Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry officers this year, approximately 5 tons of horse mackerel were seized and 5 administrative fines were imposed. In the statement made by Sinop Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, it was stated that "Our inspections are being carried out uninterruptedly by our officers in order to protect aquatic resources and support sustainable fishing activities. In order to prevent small-sized fish hunting in our province, comprehensive checks are carried out on the coastline and in fishermen's shelters. Fish caught below the legal size limit are meticulously examined within the framework of the Fisheries Law and relevant legislation.
