Fish prices soar in the UAE

For example, hammour used to cost 25 dirhams per kilogram, now it is sold for 50-60 dirhams, and the price of sherry has increased from 15 to 35 dirhams per kilogram, sea bream and bass have risen in price from 25 to 35 dirhams. Sellers complain about the seasonal decline, as many buyers have gone on summer vacation. Fishermen in Kalba and Khorfakkan say that prices will continue to rise until weather conditions improve and fishing resumes as usual.
