The salmon fishing season in Chukotka has come to an end, with a total catch of 302.4 tons, which is 90.7% of the allocated volume. The catch consisted mainly of sockeye and chum salmon. However, concerns have been raised about the reproduction of Anadyr chum salmon due to the low level of spawning grounds. To address this, passage periods for producers to spawn have been introduced from 2022. Industrial fishing for chum salmon in the Anadyr Estuary was banned due to low fish arrivals, but indigenous peoples and amateur fishermen were allowed to catch it twice a week.
