Forest villagers in Samsun, Turkey, have generated an income of 18.9 million TL from the production of laurel and chestnuts in the forest area. The forest area has expanded by 5.4 percent, covering a total of 389 thousand 478 hectares. The Amasya Regional Directorate of Forestry has invested in 86 projects in the area, including a cadastre project and the implementation of the 2/B article. The region also has 25 thousand decares of laurel forest, producing approximately 1500 tons of laurel annually, and 40 thousand decares of chestnut forest, producing around 400 tons of chestnuts.
