From April 15 to 18, 2024, a Dutch delegation including companies, research organizations, and government officials will visit Northern France and the Paris region to explore collaboration opportunities in the vegetable protein sector. This mission, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, RVO, and Food Valley, aims to capitalize on the complementary strengths of the Netherlands in plant-based food production and France in protein crop cultivation and processing. The visit will focus on networking with French companies and organizations in the alternative proteins sector, which is currently benefiting from significant French government investment. Meanwhile, France's Conseil d'État has suspended a government ban on labeling plant-based foods as vegetarian 'meat,' and referred the case to the European Court of Justice, questioning the ban's legality.
