Despite El Niño-related climate issues, Peru's fresh grape exports in 2023 saw a significant increase, with a 16% rise in volume and a 28% increase in value, totaling 664,369 tons and US$ 1,795 million respectively. This growth was due to accelerated grape production cycles caused by high temperatures. The average price per kilogram also rose by 10% to US$ 2.70. The grapes were exported to over 55 countries, with notable growth in the Asian market, especially Taiwan and Japan. However, the top buyers remained the United States, the Netherlands, and China, all of which showed a positive purchasing trend compared to 2022.
