Gangjin Agricultural Cooperative (Chairman Jin Seong-guk) is drawing praise for completing a swift and precise crop disaster insurance damage assessment for rice oat farmers who suffered severe damage from unexpected meteorological disasters. This year's rice oats experienced not only reduced germination and seed rotting due to consecutive heavy rains in November and December after sowing, but also a critical "white ear" phenomenon where grains did not form due to pollination difficulties caused by daily average minimum temperatures below 10 degrees for over 15 days in April and May. As a result, there are concerns about a 30-40% or more reduction in harvest per agricultural land, prompting Gangjin Agricultural Cooperative to initiate damage assessment.
