The Special Committee on Water Management plans to resolve the water shortage issues in Gangneung, which has been declared an emergency disaster area due to the recent prolonged drought, and in Yeongdong, which suffers from damage due to abnormal weather every year, and to establish mid- to long-term response plans. The chairperson of the newly formed Special Committee on Water Management is Representative Kwon Hyuk-yeol (People Power Party, Gangneung), who proposed the establishment of the committee.
