Tra Vinh province in Vietnam is generating significant economic revenue through a unique oyster farming model in estuaries. The model, which uses hanging rafts connected by plastic drums and corrugated sheets, has proven to be efficient and profitable, with each raft yielding 12-15 tons of oysters. Oysters are farmed for 16-18 months before harvesting. The price of oysters has seen an increase, providing farmers with a substantial income of 100-120 million VND per raft per crop. Additionally, the province is also seeing success in clam farming through various cooperatives and households, with substantial yields.
