Gonzalo Valdés Requena: "There are no grounds for the export price of meat to tend downwards"

He is a lawyer by profession, was president of the Rural Association of Uruguay between 2021 and 2023, and currently represents this association before the Board of the National Meat Institute. In this capacity, he recently participated in the meeting of the Meat Import Council of the Americas (MICA), in the context of a highly volatile U.S. market in terms of tariff policies imposed by the government of Donald Trump, where in less than a week there were at least three significant announcements involving Uruguay or direct competitor countries.
