The Institute for Economic and Social Research at the University of Indonesia has called for improved palm oil management to preserve Indonesia's global standing and investment climate. Researcher Eugenia Mardanugraha warned that excessive confiscation of illegal palm oil plantations could exacerbate the country's image issues, especially with European countries, and disrupt investment. She highlighted the legal uncertainty and risks for investors resulting from such actions. Meanwhile, operations by the Forest Area Control Task Force have led to the confiscation of 317,000 hectares of oil palm plantations, which will be managed by PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara. Mardanugraha also emphasized the need for professional palm oil managers, investments in the sector, and consideration for the economic impact on local communities and the broader economy.
